🎄 Novel of the Week [Christmas Edition]: Christmas at Bay Tree Cottage by Linn B. Halton

It's that time of the year again!!
Today officially marks the 1st Advent Sunday, which is the first of the four sundays that precede Christmas Day.
As I did last year, I'll be posting a Christmas related book review every Sunday, so get your hot cocoa and be ready to get in the Christmas mood!
‘The perfect Christmas read to touch the heart’ Bestselling author Christie BarlowThe countdown to Christmas is usually a magical time, but Elana James...
Elana James isn’t actually thrilled about the upcoming Christmas festivities: her husbad died in a car accident almost two years ago and she’s still processing it. Plus she’s stric with her finances and she’s afraid she won’t be able to put on a decent Christmas for her 6 years old little girl, Maya.
After a surprise problem with her cottage’s chimney, Elana is forced to hire Luke Stevenson, a 24 year old builder, with some ‘family’ issues of his own.
After a few days of work, other problems arise and Elana is worried than ever, but Luke saves the day proposing that he works off hours (at a better rate) to help her out with the majority of them.

From that day on, both Elana and Luke will have the chance to face their personal feelings and fears and see if happiness is a possibility in the near future.
Will Elana be able to give her daughter the happy Christmas they both deserve? And will Luke be able to make his ex-wife come back to her mind and let him see their son more?

👍👎My Thoughts
The beginning of this story is doleful and drenched of 'what ifs', but eventually Elana has to put her fears aside and bring out her strength, trying to move on with her life....Thankfully, her parents are always willing to help and give her and Maya all the love they need.
This novel reminds us that life isn't easy, but when you can count on the ones who are closest to you for help, reassurances and suggestions, everything seems a bit more bearable.

I liked this book, the style is simple, straight and makes you want to read it all at once. It has been a perfect start for my Christmas readings.

My vote: 8/10
