Diane Kruger vs Sofia Coppola

What does the Italian-American director have in common with the German born actress? Nothing, you say? Take a look at the picture below and give it a second thought.
Actress Diane Kruger wore this Valentino black sheer gown first, last year, on the red carpet of “Lao Pao Er” premiere, during the closing ceremony of the 72nd Venice Film  Festival. Diane opted for a Greek goddess inspired look: curled hair pulled back in a low and messy chignon, with a shiny gold circlet. Sofia Coppola wore the same piece during another Italian event; last week, in Rome, took place the premiere of the theatrical opera “La Traviata”, of which Sofia has cured the direction and Valentino Garavani the scenes’ costumes. The director stayed true to her signature style: a long bob and barely-there make up.

I have to say I like Sofia style more: she looks elegant and classic. Diane is a bit more edgy (which, of course, isn’t a bad thing) but for this gown Sofia’s choices worked better.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum vs Herizen F. Guardiola

Jenna Dewan-Tatum wore this Monique Lhuillier dress last November, at the Baby2Baby gala. She opted for her typical make-up barely neautral make up and beach waves hairstyle. She completed the look with white pointy heels.
Herizen Guardiola is an actress on a Netflix show and she was at the 2016 Met Gala, early this month. She opted for the same strapless green dress chosen by Jenna. She styled the dress with red open toe shoes and a futuristic high bun.

Novel Of The Week: Asa (Marked Men #6) by Jay Crownover

6th and final book of the Marked Men series, Asa is also the only male protagonist who hasn't a drop of ink (and piercing as well) on his skin and isn't a tattoo artist, but a bartender with a criminal record. What to know more? Here's my review and thoughts of Asa by Jay Crownover.

Get Her Look [Movie Edition]: Emilia Clarke' Style

One of the iconic scene of the book  and also (I'm pretty sure) of the highly anticipated movie "Me Before  You" is the concert's one, where Louisa shows with a stunning red dress.
I hope I wasn't the only one who thought: "I want that dress!" a matter of fact, the one in the movie is by the very talented costume designer Jill Taylor, BUT if you want to replicate it, here's my suggestions!

CLICK HERE for this Cupshe Empire Sweetheart Neckline Swing Dress
The dress above is the closest to the design of Emilia's dress, with a few differences like an higher neckline and shorter sleeves. It looks like it popped out of a 50s Hollywood movie start's closet! If you're not into the vintage style, I found two more dresses who may remember it while having a more modern style.
The one on the left is a soft burgundy dress, it may seems like a Greek Goddess peplum. The bright red dress on the left has a more linear design and it's perfect for both formal and semi-formal events.

So this is it, let me know what you think. Did you read the book? Are you going to see the movie? I'm 100% positive I'll cry for at least half of it!

Allison Williams vs Adriana Lima

It's rare to see an Haute Couture dress worn once, go figure twice...yet, it's what happened with this Gambattista Valli embroidered dress from his Haute Couture S/S 2016 collection.
Actress Allison Williams wore it first, back in April, at the launch of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. She styled it with a braided bun hairstyle and bright blue ankle strap heels.
Last Monday night took place, in NYC, the annual Met Gala fundraiser dinner. The theme this year was 'Manus x Machina: Fashion in Age of Technology' and Brazilian model Adriana Lima showed with Allison' same gown. The model wore matched black purse and ankle strap sandals, a vintage styled chignon (very chic!) and gorgeous dark green/diamond earrings!

Lupita Nyong'o vs Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden

The contestants of today's #WWIB couldn't be more different than this: one is Kenyan-Mexican Oscar winning actress, the other is Swedish's future Queen.
But they have at least one thing in common: this dress!
Actress Lupita Nyong'o made a guest appereance on "Good Morning, America", earlier this past April. She wore this gorgeous horizontal black, blue and white striped dress by Dolce&Gabbana. She styled it with matching bright blue heels and earrings.
Victoria,Crown Princess of Sweden had a very busy day on April, 30th: it was King Carl Gustaf's (a.k.a her father!) 70th birthday celebrations and she wore Lupita's same attire, but with a more classic touch with black pumps and cocktail's white hat.

So let's jump into it: here's my review and thoughts on Beautiful Burn by Jamie McGuire.

Kendall Jenner vs Lily Aldridge

With spring weather on its way, it is time for new fashion trends and one of them (maybe not so new, after all) is the bodysuit...preferably a piece that shows some major cleavage.
Kendall Jenner, after having been seen at  Coachella festival, was spotted wearing this black T by Alexander Wang lace-up bodysuit at LAX airport, late this April. She opted for a total black jeans and ankle boot look. The day after, Lily Aldridge also wore the same bodysuit, but styled it with ripped jeans and studded sandals, also by Alexander Wang,

These Victoria's Secret angels are just the last of a very long list of celebs who sported this look: from Kim Kardashian to Amber Rose to Gigi and Bella Hadid. From Emily Ratajkowski to Selena Gomez and Chiara Ferragni, they all loved and wore this particular piece.

A Different Blue by Amy Harmon
the English & Italian covers
If you follow my IG or my "Mailbox" posts then you'll remember I won the Italian edition of A Different Blue by Amy Harmon on a giveaway, earlier this year. It took me a while to decide to read it, which eventually I did, and here is my review and thoughts!
