👗 Chiara Ferragni vs Kourtney Kardashian

Last post of 2017!!
Tomorrow we'll be all either sleeping or still celebrating, so I thought to close this year and kicking the new one in a fashonably way!
Web influencer Chiara Ferragni wore the furry burgundy Fendi coat first, during Milan Fashion Week, in February 2016. She wore Fendi H to T, sported pink vintage sunglasses and an half up hairstyle.
Reality star Kourtney Kardashian wore the same coat while ice skating, 2 weeks ago. For the occasion she went casual with matching stretch burgundy trousers.

If you're thinking "hey, I've already seen it, but not on these two..." you're probably referring to Taraji P. Henson's character Cookie Lyon from the TV series 'Empire'. On season 3 pilot episode, Cookie wears this coat as well!
Cookie Lyon's Floral Fur Coat on Empire

Who do you think wore it better?
Chiara Ferragni or Kourtney Kardashian?

Happy 2018 everyone!!!

Hope that you will all have a fun, happy and thoughtless last and first day of the year!

🎬 Movie Review: Murder on the Orient Express

This is my last movie review of 2017 and I'm so glad it's a highly positive one!
I've never read the book nor I've seen the 1974's movie, so my thoughts are entirely and only based on Kenneth Branagh's version.
Murder on the Orient Express Movie Poster
Belgian detective Hercule Poirot has just solved a theft case in Jersusalem and is in Istanbul, longing for a well-deserved vacation, when he's asked to reach England to solve another crime. Poirot is then forced to travel on the Orient Express and, while adjusting his things in his cabin, he gets to meet interesting (and frankly sinister) passengers, like Mr.Ratchett, an art trader, who gets killed the following night.
Since the train gets stuck by an avalache, Poirot is in charge of the investigations, which will lead to uncover the lies and real indentities of most of the passengers...

My Opinion👍👎
Kenneth Branagh is the last esthete, his sense of style, scenographies and shots choices are mind blowing!
The movie is nearly 2 hours long, but you'll barely notice it, trying to keep up with Poirot's intuitions and witty dialogues. Even if it's mostly filmed during daylight, the entire atmosphere is dark and has a very sad and nostalgic aura: Poirot is old, in need of rests, and the crime he has to deal with has nothing to do with the present, but is connectioned to a painful case of kidnap and homicide. happened years ago.
I think it's a great movie, with an extraordinary and talented cast and I really like Kenneth Branagh is both director's and lead protagonist's roles.

Would I pay the full prize ticket? – Yes, it's surely worth the full price ticket (in Italy it's currently 8€), it's a movie that you appreciate the most if seen in a cinema.

🎄 Novel of the Week [Christmas Edition]: Christmas Ever After by Sarah Morgan

And the most awaited night of the year has finally come! Tonight, after dinner, I'll be opening the presents with my family and I'm super excited about it!
Today's is going to be the last Christmas Edition book review that I'll post, thank you so much to all of you who've been sticking around the entire period and, without further ado, here's my review and thoughts on today's book!
Skylar Tempest and Alec Hunter are the completely opposite: she's a jewelry designer, an artist, with a strick and rational family who doesn't support her. Alec is an historian, famous for his TV documentaries, has a disastrous marriage behind and doesn't get along with Skylar at all.
A week before Christmas they're both in London: Skylar has the opening night of her new jewelry collection in a chic gallery, while Alec had a seminar to attend.
Since their common friends asked him to go at Sky's event and check on her sneaky boyfriend, Richard, Alec has no other choice, but to go...and thank God he did!

After a very painful break up, both figuratively and literally, Alec doesn't feel like Skylar has the streight to be left alone and so he takes her with him to visit his parents, for an early Christmas celebration.

After that, they go back to Puffin Island together, in order to relax and think about how much their perceptions on each other were wrong...

👍👎My Thoughts
As always, I started with the last book of a Sarah Morgan's series...however, this time, I did it on purpose! There's not much I can say: Sarah Morgan is a certainty, if what you're looking for is a fun, easy minded and engaging book. The dialogues are hilarious and the settings glamorous, I finished the book in 24 hours, I literally wasn't able to put it down.
Absolutely recommended!

🎬 Movie Review: The Fundamentals of Caring

This might not be the typical Christmas movie, but the message of help and encouragement it spreads is surely something we should all be aware during this time of the year.
Ben is a writer shattered by the sense of guilt for a tragic accident, that made him walk away from his job and his wife and led him to enroll in a course for care giversHe seems to be apathetic and does not fully understand the burden he's about to lean...until he meets his first patient, Trevor.

Trevor, a very intelligent 18 years old boy, is affected by muscular dystrophy, therefore he's forced on a wheelchair and depends entirely on others. The beginning is certainly not the easiest, but with time the two find their balance. Trevor developed an unique and grotesque sense of humour and is passionate about strange world records, specifically the biggest things in the world, and he and Ben decide to embark on an roadtrip to see them all, to finish with the 'biggest hole in the world'.

Along the way they will meet Dot, a runaway, and Peaches, a pregnant sweet girl, who will both join them in their journey. Between weird giant things and personal problems, this road trip will bond Ben and  Trevor forever.

My Opinion👍👎
This is a movie about people's personal growth...people seemed to be lost and that, thanks to an unlikely journey, will rediscover their passions and aspirations, make peace with their past and move on with a positive attitude. The cast is superber, they went along pretty well and are believable. It reminds me of John Green's novel "An Abundance of Katherines", the difference lies in the reasons why the characters embark on the journey.
Care givers are amazing people, but they’re also human and Paul Rudd portrayed Ben (and all his flaws) majesticly.

Would I pay the full prize ticket? – I watched it directly on DVD, but if I went to see it at the movie theathre I’d have not minded paying the full prize ticket.

👗Elisabeth Moss vs Alexa Chung vs Sam Taylor-Johnson

British brand The Vampire's Wife is gathering more and more fan each day and the ladies in today's post are just three of the dozens who wore one of Susie Cave's dresses. This one's name is "Falconetti".
"Handmaid's Tale" actress Elisabeth Moss wore this metallic ruffled dress first, back in August, while attending the 2017 Summer TCA Tour. She styled it with stunning dark green embellished heels and a retro vibe wavy hairstyle.
It-girl Alexa Chung attended the bash held in honour of  band The Bad Seeds, later this November, in London. Alexa look sophisticated in the green dress, which she matched with sheer black tights and multi ankle straps black shoes.
Director Sam Taylor-Johnson walked The Trevor Project’s 2017 TrevorLIVE LA red carpet, with her husband, earlier this December. She looked elegant and classy in the Falconetti dress, sporting a side wavy hairstyle and black sandals.

This dress, its shorter version or in a different colour (silver, bright pink or red), has been worn several times by actresses like Dakota Johnson, Ruth NeggaKeira KnightleyLaura Bailey
Maggie Gyllenhaal and designer herself, Susie Cave.

Who do you think wore it better?
Elisabeth Moss, Alexa Chung or Sam Taylor-Johnson?

🎄 Novel of the Week [Christmas Edition]: Covent Garden in the Snow by Jules Wake

Hello and happy Monday everyone! I'm so sorry for missing yesterday's appointment with Christmas themed novels but, ironically, I've been busy...buying Christmas gifts!
So this week is going to have two books reviews, let's jump into the first (very British) one!

Matilde 'Tilly' Hunter is a talented make-up artist working for the London Metropolitan Opera Company, but she's also a danger whenever she finds herself nearby a computer: because of her naivety she opens a malware that almost shut down the entire Opera network. Thankfully, IT department new director, Marcus Walker, was able to contain the problem.
In order to make Tilly more responsible and mature, her boss Alison Kreufeld obliges her to work along with Marcus to make LMOC more 21th century and up-to-date with the new technologies.

Tilly is forced to accept, a promotion for an important job opportunity is on the line...

👍👎My Thoughts
I adored how British the characters are, making them say 'bloody this' and 'bloody that' every other line! I also liked the description of the work behind the stage done by all the departments, I really felt the hectic atmospheres and the how much the protagonist loves her work, even if her parents disapprove.
The story is humorous, a bit unrealistic give Tilly's inability with PCs (which modern-day girl does not know how to use a computer?) but overall it has been the perfect companion to spend a December Sunday afternoon with!
I'd suggest it to London lovers and for all of those who want a read that will leave a smile on their face.

My vote: 8/10

👗Natalia Vodianova vs Naomie Harris

There are a few people I deeply belive made a deal with the devil, because they never seem to age...Among them, there's Natalia Vodianova, who's 35 and yet looks like she stopped aging at 20!!

Back to business, today's #WWIB feature an old good friend of ours...Louis Vuitton!
Who said you have to wear only sparkles during the festivities? Black is always a certainty!
Russian born model Natalia Vodianova wore this interesting piece from LV's Resort 2018 collection at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 show, held during last Paris Fashion Week. Natalia looked chic as alway, matching the dress with simple black sandals and an Louis Vuitton rounded brown monogrammed purse.
A month later, in November, British actress Naomie Harris attended Louis Vuitton celebrated GingerNutz in Vogue’s December Issue even, in London. She opted for shiny black boots, to achive a more modern look, and a two toned rectangular purse.

Who do you think wore it better?
Natalia Vodianova or Naomie Harris?

👗Jennifer Lawrence vs Arizona Muse

It wouldn't be Christmas time without lights and blings, this golden dress works perfectly for a festive #WWIB!
This shiny gold Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture piece has been worn first by smiling Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, at the 'Mother!' premiere after party, back in September. While posing alongside her friend Emma Stone, she showed off her dress, matched with open-toe sandals and a messy updo.
Arizona Muse wore the same shimmering dress in Vienna, while attending the the Aquazzura x Dinner. She donned a wavy short bob haircut and completed the look with a gold purse.

Who do you think wore it better?
Jennifer Lawrence or Arizona Muse?

📖 Novel of the Week: Rasputin's Legacy by Lee Jackson

His Code Name Is Atcho, a Cuban-born West Point graduate. He is the only covert operative on earth to be trusted by both the President of the United States and the Premier of the Soviet Union. A chance meeting of Rasputin, a mysterious monk with the daughters of the last Czar deep in the forests of Russia sets in motion cataclysmic events that surface 70 years later. Atcho finds himself battling a mysterious religious sect, the KGB, the Soviet military, and the Communist Party to save the National Power that had kept him imprisoned for more than 19 years – and he must do it without help or assistance from US intelligence resources. Failure would result in placing the full nuclear capabilities and military might of the Soviet Union into the hands of a madman bent on world domination.

If you have been following my books reviews for a while, then you'll be very aware how much I love stories set in Russia, in the post-tsar era. So it shouldn't be a suprise when I say that I really liked this novel, even if it's set in 1988. The protagonist, Atcho Xiquez is a resourceful person, with a profound sense of duty towards the country that helped him and his daughter to escape from Cuba. The story spreads from Washington D.C., to Paris, Romania and finally Russia, to prevent Borya Yermolov's coup to take power over the URSS and to make the Cold War hotter than ever. Yermolov is Rasputin's descendent and so he managed to get money and help from a sect of his loyalists in order to make his plan a success.
This novel is filled with suspance, plot twists and remorseless characters, whom are ready to do anything to reach their goals.
If you like Cold War thrillers, this is a must read; thanks to the flowing writing style and the vivid descriptions, you'll find yourself in Paris, chasing a Rasputin sect, or in the snowy Novosibirsk, trying to stop the only person who would love to start another World War...
The characters are interesting, with particular backgrounds and it's a gender equality novel, since Atcho's fiancée, Sofia, isn't just a secondary character, but a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it.
To sum it up, if you want action, conspiracies, half globe travels and a life threatening mission, with very low chances of success, well...Rasputin's Legacy is what you need to read!

Curse The Moon
Lee Jackson Brings Heat To The Cold War.

His code-name is Atcho. He leads guerrilla fighters through the US-supported insurgency that rages at the Bay of Pigs in the early days of Fidel Castro’s Cuba. Captured and cast into the island’s worst dungeons, Atcho learns that a phantom-like officer of the Soviet KGB shadows him. Inexplicably released from incarceration and still dedicated to his country, he battles through the bowels of the Kremlin in Moscow, into the granite halls at West Point, and finally to highest levels in Washington, DC. Atcho’s rise opens doors into US National Defense even as the seemingly omniscient KGB officer holds unflinching sway over his actions. His public life clashes with secrets that only he and his tormentor share, isolating him in a world of intrigue among people whom he is determined not to betray – and then he finds that he is the trigger that could spark thermonuclear war.

“Atcho is at his best…when taking names and kicking ass. Highly enjoyable…” ~ Kirkus Reviews

"Curse the Moon has it all, packaging its tense thriller in the cloak of understanding motivations both political and personal. It's all about danger, sacrifice, and how even would-be romance bows to the pressure of a covert operator's obligations." D. Donovan, eBook Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

“There is much in “Curse The Moon” that is based on real events, and two of the primary characters, Atcho and his daughter, Isabel, were actually based on my father-in-law and my wife. In fact, the code-name “Atcho” is my father-in-law’s real nickname. He fought in the counterrevolution against Castro, was imprisoned after the Bay of Pigs, and spent 17 years in some of Castro’s worst prisons. In the book, he is a composite character. Some of the fictional Atcho’s expoits were the real Atcho’s, and some were accomplished by others in the resistance. The real aspects in the book are the abject cruelty that the Castro regime imposed, and the intrepidity and courage that Cuban patriots exhibited in resisting him.
The other very real aspect was the relationship between both the real and fictional Atchos and their fictional and real respective daughters. Both grew up with their fathers having been stripped from their homes and country, and witnessed much of the savagery as little girls. That stayed with my wife such that, although on a cognitive basis she understood and was even proud of the courage of her father, on a deeper level, she suffered from his absence and felt a sense of having been abandoned – other men escaped Cuba with their families intact.
My initial motivation for writing the book was as a tribute to the real Atcho and my wife. In researching it, I found a story with all the elements of a thriller, and one that should be told: a near holocaust took place 90 miles south of Florida, and most Americans know nothing about it. Further, because of its strategic location just off the US coast, Cuba occupied an outsized place in the Cold War competition between the US and the Soviet Union. This story takes the Cuban revolution as its launching point, and then delves into the strained and often subtle relations between the two superpowers in the waining days of the Cold War. It questions the actions of John Kennedy, brings alive the charm, sternness, and personality of Ronald Reagan, and views Mikhail Gorbachev with curiosity.” ~ Lee Jackson

👗Julianne Moore vs Anne Hathaway

As I first put my eyes on it, I wouldn't have thought this was a Valentino piece, and yet...It's Valentino, again! This time the same piece from the Resort 2018 collection has been worn by two Oscar-winning actresses!
Julianne Moore wore the feathery vibe dress first, while making a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show' Starring Jimmy Fallon, back in September. She was there to promote  ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ and made quite an entrance, with this bright red wth metallic details. She completed the look with a simple hairstyle and camel-toned open toes sandals.
Anne Hathaway (whom has been a close friend of the designer for years) showed up in Julianne's same dress at the “Every Mother Counts” store event, later this November. She wore it with grey ankle strap sandals and her signature wide smile.

Who do you think wore it better?
Julianne Moore or Anne Hathaway?

🎄 Novel of the Week [Christmas Edition]: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Welcome to today's book review! As you can understand from the title, today's novel is the most famous and probably most read during the Christmas period...there have been tons of movies adaptations based upon "A Christmas Carol", the last one no more than one month ago (I've talked about it HERE), but the novel still has is allure and fans all over the world and from every age!
5327A Christmas Carol
The story is well-known: Ebenezer Scrooge is a stingy and thrifty man, with not interests except for money and business and, because of it, he neglects people who are closest to him: his employee, his only nephew and his family.
One night, on Christmas Eve, Scrooge's former (and dead) business partner, Marley, appeares in Scrooge's house and tells him that he'll receive the visit of three spirits, in order to make his life more meaningful and less money related.
The three spirits are from Scrooge's past, present and future Christmases and they'll take him on a journey back to when he was a young boy, to the point where he became the arrogant man he is now and to the future Christmas, to see first hand how people will react to his eventual death.

👍👎My Thoughts
This is a short story and it can easily be read the night before Christmas and if you read the old edition, you can really feel the London from 1800.
The message is as simple as it is important and what I've found particularly profound is the Present Spirit's speech about people that commit awful acts of hate and cruelty in God's (it doesn't say which God) name.
Descriptions and events are so well written that it's easy to understand why this novel has become a classic (and must) read!

📺 Korean Tv Series Review: Lie To Me (내게 거짓말을 해봐)

Here's another K-Drama review! This 2011 series is the classic and well known 'comedy of errors'...and misunderstandings!
Gong Ah Jung is a young civil servant for South Korea's Ministry of Culture and Tourism; she's very passionate about her job, even if her first important event ended up a disaster...she's so focus on her career because she's still hurt by her University best friend, Yoo So Ranbetrayal: she 'stole' Gong Ah's love interest and married him.

The two casually run into each other and Gong Ah, annoyed by So Ran's continuous bragging, tells her that she's married, with a very wealthy man.
Fate (and its incrdible sense of humour) will do the rest: Gong Ah keeps on crossing paths with World Hotel CEO Hyun Ki Joon and soo the rumours that the two secretly married will spread out!
After a bit of discussions and fights, Gong Ah and Hyun Ki Joon decide to preted they're married for  mutual benefits: she'll have an husband to show off her friends and he will present her as his wife to an important Chinese business man he wants to collaborate with.

Things will slip out their hands when Hyun Ki Joon's younger brother, Hyun Sang Hee, and his ex-fiancèe, Oh Yoon Joo, will come back into his life...
Lie to me (Korean Drama) wallpaper with a well dressed person and an outerwear titled Lie to me

My Opinion👍👎
This is the kind of comedy you watch when you want to unplung for a couple of hours and have a laugh. The plot is fun and since a lie leads to another, be prepared for a lot of attempts for keeping the first one up...
It might be a frivolous TV series, but is, overall, funny and enjoyableI really loved the scenographies, specially the scenes shot in a cherry trees park, it was amazing!
Whom I didn't get has been the female protagonist: for 14 episodes she's all about trying to make him to accept to be her 'fake' husband and when, SURPRISE, he actually wants to marry her, she's skeptical...have I missed sometimes or she just went nuts?

🎬 Movie Review: A Silent Voice (聲の形)

Risultati immagini per 聲の形 A Silent Voice

Shoya Ishida is the avarege elementary school boy, he likes to play with his friends and has a lovely family. Someday a new alumn comes into Ishida's class and she's not an ordinary one: it's Shoko Nishumiya, a deaf girl, who interacts with people by writing on her notebook.

Risultati immagini per 聲の形
Soon, she becomes Ishida's and and his friends targer for their pranks, but Ishida is just the worst: he steals her notebook, waters her with the water pump, writes awful things on the class blackboard...till he reaches the lowest point: he rips with force Shoko's ears implants, several times.
The girl, who's kind hearted and nice, tries her best to deal with the bullies and become friends with Ishida, but at some point she's retired from school and he will not see her for a long time.

A Silent Voice Bullying
Years have gone by and now it's Ishida who's bullied; to say it better, he's isolated from his highschool classmates and, even if it's a great cause of suffer, he doesn't do much to change things, thinking that he deserves every bad look or rumor about him because of how he treated Shoko in the past. He's a 'lone wolf' and also thought about taking his life, but eventually thought it back.
A Silent Voice full cast
Beside becoming friends with a classmate, Ishida's life is pretty much the same everyday, until he coincidentally runs into Shoko and sees it as the begging of his journey to redeem himself from the hurt he caused her when they were younger.
Ishida and Shoko will meet again with other former classmates, whom have been openly cruel to her (or just watched on the other side), making the healing process a bit more challenging...

My Opinion👍👎
This isn't an easy movie to watch: it's hard to comprehend why Ishida is behaving the way he does and it deals with deep and, unfortunately, daily topics, like bullism and teenage suicide; for these reasons, I would suggest the view to everybody, because the protagonists are normal people with normal lives, even so they have to answer to actions they made in the past.
Even if it's not a sad movie (SPOILER: nobody dies), 'A Silent Voice' is hard to watch and will leave you in the end with a massime weight on your chest, but it also has positive messages: you CAN change yourself for the better, you CAN fix your past mistakes and, with supportive and loyal friends by your side, you don't have to do this alone.

Would I pay the full prize ticket? This movie was a special event in Italian theathres as it was aired for just 2 days: I paid the full prize ticket and, whether I don't think it was entirely worth it, I don't regret it that much.

👗Who Wore it Better: The Vampire’s Wife "Cate" dress

The Vampire’s Wife is a recent fashion label founded by Susie Cave with her friend and business partner Alex Adamson in 2014. Since then, the brand became pretty famous among fashion victims and celebs, because of it's unique and vintage vibe style.

Cate dress is a black ruffled dress, with shiny pink floral details and has been seen on quite a few between models, actresses and singers. Here's how they wore it!

The first who showed up in this dress (the long version of it) has been Ruth Negga, while attending the 2017 BAFTA Tea Party, back in January. As usually, she looked very classy and chic, matching the ruffled dress with open toe sandals and pink lips.
The first who wore the short version of the dress has been Sienna Miller, while out in London, earlier this September. She completed the look with black high heels sandals and a simple loose hairstyle.
The same mini dress has been worn three more times since then:
On Januray Jones, who looked really good while attending the 2017 Fox Fall Party, held in September. She completed the look with strappy black shoes and a wavy hairstyle with side bangs.
On Georgia May Jagger at the 2017 Harper's Bazaar Woman Of The Year Awards, held in London, earlier this November. The model donned the metallic blue version of the dress and matched it with black sandals.
Last, but not least, two weeks ago this dress made another appearance on singer Kylie Minogue, whom attended the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds x The Vampires Wife x party. She went for a strong look, wearing knee-length laced up black boots.

Who do you think wore Cate dress best?

Jailbird by Taylor Dean - Release Day + $50 Giveaway

My hometown decided to rename me Jailbird. Every day I silently scream out, “My name is Mia Faraday!” My time in jail does not define me. I am so much more than one heated mistake. And yet, my slip-up weighs on me. There’s so much more to the story than anyone realizes. I must face Stony, my ex, and confess everything. I don’t want to. I’d rather have five teeth pulled. While I’m awake. Without anesthesia. But this is something I have to do, something I need to do. Not just for Stony. I need to do it for me. Especially for me. I can’t move forward with my life until I gain closure from the past. When I meet Grayson Elliott, I am easily pulled into his orbit and it’s exactly where I’d love to stay. He makes me laugh and not take life so seriously. He makes me want to live again. But I don’t love me right now, and that healing needs to come first. I’m not relationship-ready or marriage material. My mind is focused on redemption. I want it. I need it. Besides, when Grayson hears about my colorful past, I’m sure he’ll be gone before I have time to utter the word goodbye. After all, who could ever love a jailbird?
The Sound of Silence Series is a three book series.
Book One: Stone Silence, Spencer’s Story
Book Two: Jailbird, Mia’s Story
Book Three: Hothouse Flower, Shay’s Story
Each book has a happy ending and there are no cliffhangers.
They are not standalones and should be read in order.
Did you miss Book One, STONE SILENCE?
Grab it on AMAZON
Great big beautiful love. Does it really exist? Everyone tells me it does. They say, “Spencer Elliott, don’t worry, you’ll find it one day. You just have to find the right man and when you do, it will surprise the heck out of you.” I’m still waiting for that heck of a surprise to hit. It has proven to be elusive thus far. I’m pretty sure the entire world is lying about love and the joke is on me. I know I want a man in my heart and in my life. Unfortunately, most men immediately push my OFF button and I lose interest quickly. Feeling pressure to prove I’m trying to find my soulmate, I finally give in and agree to a date. Huge mistake. Afterward I find myself abandoned in the middle of nowhere, in desperate need of help. That’s when I meet Stony by chance. He’s a silent and unsmiling man who intrigues me with his ability to keep going after life has knocked him down. Suddenly the abstract notion of love becomes tangible and within my reach. Once I experience it, I wonder how I ever lived without it. That’s when I stay with Stony by choice. But when Stony’s hidden past and present-day reality collide, his silence is broken. And the truth about his life nearly brings me to my knees. I can’t compete with ghosts from the past. I refuse to fight for a man’s love. He either loves me or he doesn’t. It’s as simple and as complicated as that. My only hope is . . . he does.   Praise for STONE SILENCE: Oh. My. Gosh! I absolutely LOVE Stone Silence! Talk about swoony! This book is AMAZING! I was sucked in from the very beginning and found myself lost in the journey of Spencer and Stony. I laughed out loud, got teary eyed, let out little dreamy sighs and refused to put this book down until I finished it! I devoured it! -KJ's Book Nook Oh man. I will always read everything Taylor Dean writes with no hesitation. I LOVE Taylor Dean books. If you have never read anything by her, you really must. -Aimee, Getting Your Read On

Excerpt #2:
THE DOOR OPENS and there he is, looking just as handsome as I remembered. He’s wearing shorts and I can see his prosthetic leg. He’s wearing a short-sleeved shirt and I can see his mottled skin plain as day.
I did that to him. And I hate myself for it.
Hate. Hate. Hate.
I ignore my negative thoughts and concentrate on Stony. He looks confident and fit. His hair is longer, combed back on his head in a stylish sort of way. He’s sporting the unshaven look with a slight beard that only adds to his masculinity. His tanned skin proves he spends a lot of time outdoors. There’s still a deep line between his eyebrows that speaks to the intensity of his personality. In spite of everything, he’s the vision of health and vitality. I know how hard he’s worked to achieve it and I’m impressed with his tenacity. He’s the poster child of someone who refuses to give up no matter how many times life knocks him down. I wish I had his strength.
Standing this close, I want to fall into his arms and let him hold me. It seems the natural thing to do, but things have changed.
His eyebrows furrow even deeper—and the action is not lost on me—then he says, “Mia?”
I swallow. He doesn’t seem happy to see me, but then the constant lack of a smile makes him hard to read. “Hi, Stony.”
I’ve surprised him, that’s obvious. And not in a good way.
He doesn’t say anything, he just stares at me. So I say, “Can I talk to you?”
He hesitates and says, “Uh . . .”
I hate his hesitation, the way he looks so unsure.
“Please,” I say. I’m not above begging. I need to do this. “I’m not here to cause problems for you, I swear. I know you’re a married man now. I would never do anything to jeopardize your relationship. I’m not trying to come between you and your wife.”
“Stop it, I know that,” he says and he means it. At least he knows me well enough to know I would never do something like that. Now that he’s married, Stony is off-limits to me.
But we do have some unfinished business.
He seems to think things over for a moment, then he comes to a decision. He nods and says, “Sure. Come on in.”
