Novel Of The Week: Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire

I think I’m one of the few people in the whole word who haven't read the “Beautiful Disaster” series. Quickly and inexorably it became a best seller and (here in Italy at least) everyone was talking about it…
Enough with that, today I want to talk about Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire
It’s the first novel I read by this author and here’s my review.

11 Random Things

15 Random Fatcs you didn't know about actress, movies and sports on http://theteenytinytoutfaire.blogspot.it/2013/12/15-random-facts-about-actorsactresses.html

- Saudi Arabia is the only state in the world that doesn't allowed women to have a drive license. There's no legal rule about it, simply it's not given to women and driving licenses took in other countries are not valid.

- Winston Churchill is often associated to the English Bulldog; in fact, during WWII, he used tipycal British symbols to gather together the people...but he never owned one. He was a poodle owner!

- In 1987, NBA's Washington Bullets team got on the playing field (at the same time) the highest and shortest players in all NBA history:
Manute Bol (Sudanese, 231cm) and Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues (American, 158cm).

- The only trophy Swiss pro tennis player Roger Federer has left to win to is the gold Olympic medal in singles.

- The deadliest sniper ever is Finnish Simo Hayha. During World War II he killed at least 700 Russian soldiers when they invaded Finland.

- Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams worked together in the movie "The Notebook". At the very start of the shooting they could barely stand each other!! After that movie, they have been together for 3 years.

- American actor (and Tibet rights' activist) Richard Gere not only has never won an Oscar but he also has never been even nominated for!

- Speaking of Richard Gere, this March 2015 is the 25th anniversary of the iconic movie Pretty Woman, with him and Julia Roberts as protagonists. It seems like that Disney's didn't want Julia as leading actress, indeed they wanted Meg Ryan.

The only woman who was enlisted in the Foreign Legion was Susan Travers. She was the nurse and driver of General Marie-Pierre Koenig.

- When she was a child, Queen Elizabeth II suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD): it seems she didn't want to get in bed until she has finished a ritual with her rocking horses; she took the saddle away fed them.

Novel Of The Week: A Calm Whisper

A "Calm Whisper" is a collection of short stories, arts (drawings, paintings and contemporary techniques) and poetries. The meaning of its title is a metaphor for a comparison to the loud voices of famous authors and artists against those who have hard times being published or exposing their works in art galleries and so on.

Section One: Short Stories

There are 10 short stories, mainly death themed, but instead of being dreary and sad, they are very interesting...the protagonists of each story has his/her own way to deal with it: some are scared, others can't just get peace about losing a loved person or they react to a death sentence with bravery, others doesn't seem to care enough and keep living like they always have been or make a life-changing decision.
Those short stories were heart melting, the ones I like most were "Stripes and Lollipops", "My heart beats for you" and "Annabeth".

Section Two: Art

If there's one gift I envy in people is for sure be able of drawing... I found the art works in this ebook very pleasant and original, both in the themes and the techinques they use to realizing them. I particularly liked the "Sketch of a Town" and "Majestic Water Colors" sections.

Section Three: Poetry

Last but not least, poetry.
The most of the poems written here are sad, pessimistic and gloomy. That is why I particularly liked "Two Hands"; about an everlasting friendship and "Nothing without You Both", about parent's love and how their guide can help us through all our life.

In conclusion, the authors in this collection are very talented and I'm glad I had the chance to read and see their works. I'm impressed!

I received copy thanks to Bookplex.com for free in exchange of my true and honest opinion.

Who Wore it Best: Louis Vuitton edition

Last week was the conclusive of the Fashion Weeks Fall/Winter season and, as always, it was a call for the entire star system: actresses, singers, models and anyone in the fashion industry was in front row (literally!)

The final stop of the fashion weeks is in Paris and one of the most anticipated shows was undoubtedly Louis Vuitton...and it was there that a lot of celebs wore familiars outfits.

Checked them out!
Actress Dianna Agron wore first this flamingo printed dress first at Louis Vuitton's ‘Series 2′ The Exhibition last February while model Tao Okamoto wore it while attending the front row at Louis Vitton show during Paris FashionWeek.

Lady Gaga vs Nicky Hilton

And, yes....we ended up with a Valentino #WWIB...again!
This stunning Valentino cape/gown has been worn first by the artistic Lady Gaga, who couldn't resist to make it more her style and had it costumed with silver stars in the inside of the cape. She wore it on the red carpet during the 37th annual Kennedy Center Honors early last December in Washington, DC.
Then we have American socialite Nicky Hilton, who wore the red version of Gaga's dress at the 2015 amfAR New York Gala the past February, in New York City.

I think I'll take sides this time and opt for Lady Gaga's outfit. They both look gorgeous, but it seems to me that the singer added to the look (literally) something more than Nicky Hilton.

How do you think wore it better:
Lady Gaga or Nicky Hilton?

Today's Obsession: Lily James' "Cinderella" promoting tour Lookbook

It's almost time!! Just a few more midnights and the highly anticipated live action Disney's movie "Cinderella" will hit the theathres!
Starring by the talented Lily James and Richard Madden (not to mention Cate Blanchett and the majestic Helena Bonham Carter!), it's going to be a mix between Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby, all bright colours and pop music...at least, this is what I think it'll be, basing on what I've seen in the clips and trailers.

Anyway, in the past weeks the cast has been very busy in promotion tours. We've seen them at Berlin Film Festival, in Milan, Moscow but also L.A, Mexico City and lastly in some events in New York City...

Here's what actress Lily James wore in all those red carpets!

Novel of the Week - Warrior's Angel by Heather Killough-Walden

Finally! my agony has come to an end and I was able to hold (digitally speaking, it's an ebook) the last and most attend chapter of Lost Angels saga, Warrior's Angel by Heather Killough-Walden.

If you’re reading my review for a while now, you'd probabily remember how much I loved the first two novels (reviews: Avenger's Angel and Messanger's Angel) and how disappointed I was about Azrael's one (review: Death’s Angel), and even so, he's still my favourite (just a reminder!).

Without further additions, here's to you the final chapter of the four "brothers" adventures!

How to Wear...an Overall

If you were born in the late '80ies/ early '90ies I can safely bet that you have (in a hidden pictures box somewhere) some photos of a younger you wearing an overall.

When I was younger I hated to wear overalls, but now they're making their major come back on runways, photoshooots and, of course, street style!
So, if you want to try them out and wonder how to style it, here's to you my favourite ways to do so.

Blair Eadie vs Ella Catliff

I'm not a fashion (bloggers) victim, but every now and then I enjoy checking some fashion blogs and have a look to all those outfits...some of them aren't my style AT ALL, but that's a completely different subject.
Today's fashion bloggers aren't new if you follow me from a while. (If you have no clue what I'm talking about click here).
The American adn Brit here bloggers both wore a Self Portrait periwinkle blue dress, both styled it with Mary Jane' shoes. The first was Blair Eadie on July 2014 and she wore black shoes and her signature black sunglasses. Ella Catliff work it as preppy style, with white socks and bicolour shoes at CARAT private dinner last November.

As always, speak your mind and tell me who's your favourite!

Novel of the Week - The Scorch Trials by James Dashner

Since I loved the novel (and the movie as well), I continued the Maze Runner saga, so here's to you my review of The Scorch Trials by James Dashner!
