What does the Italian-American director have in
common with the German born actress? Nothing, you say? Take a look at the picture below and give it
a second thought.
Actress Diane
Kruger wore this Valentino black sheer gown first, last year, on the red
carpet of “Lao Pao Er” premiere, during the closing ceremony of the 72nd Venice
Film Festival. Diane opted for a Greek
goddess inspired look: curled hair pulled back in a low and messy chignon, with
a shiny gold circlet. Sofia Coppola wore
the same piece during another Italian event; last week, in Rome, took place the
premiere of the theatrical opera “La Traviata”, of which Sofia has cured the direction and Valentino Garavani the scenes’ costumes. The director stayed true to her signature style: a long bob and barely-there make up.
I have to say I like Sofia style more: she looks
elegant and classic. Diane is a bit more edgy (which, of course, isn’t a bad
thing) but for this gown Sofia’s choices worked better.
Who do you think wore it better?
Diane Kruger or Sofia Coppola?
