Carly Bishop left everything and everyone behind in Hood Hamlet 6 years ago, after a tragedy that made her impossible to just think of staying...but now she is back, because when family needs you, you simply can't say no.

Jacob 'Jake' Porter is over the moon about Carly return back in town...they've known each other since they were kids and she always had a special place in his heart. Now all he needs to do is making her experience the best Christmas ever, in order to make her have a reason to stay...for good.
But it's not going to be easy, as Carly is tormented with 'ifs' and 'buts' about her past tragedy and while she just puts on a smiley face to make her niece and nephew happy, reality is she doesn't believe in Christmas anymore.

It's up to Jake to make Carly change her mind and, while doing so, he also will be facing his past regrets and decisions. Will both of them have the merry Christmas they deserve?

👍👎My Thoughts
I enjoyed the book and I'm definitely going to continue on with the "Mountain Rescue" series. I always thought if you knew someone for your entire life, when the relationship transforms from friendship to love there would have been less doubts about it, but Charly and Jake's fears are on point and of course, you never know how things are going to turn out.

I felt the Christmas magic in this book thanks to the mountain setting, with snow falling every two pages and all the activities I personally love to do on Christmas holidays.
If you're up for a clean romance, filled with funny dialogues and winter scenaries, go and start reading this!

My vote: 7¾/10
