Vic Computer Medan: Meteor Garden 2018 Characters
From the second half of the series, the focus isn't only on Shancai and Daoming Si, but on Meizuo Feng and Ximen Yan as well. The former falls in love with Caina, the girl who beat Shancai in the cooking competition. She's a bit older than him, but that doesn't mean she has her life all figured, on the contrary! She's torn between the new, refreshing love with Meizuo but is also stuck on a never-forgotten 'one-night stand' she had years ago with Ye Ming Chuan, who magically reappears just when she and Meizuo start dating.

Ximen is a ladies' man: he's charming, smart, and behaves like a gentleman, but is not interested in being in a relationship, so one moment he's making the girl feels like the only one in the world and can be cruelly cold the moment after. This is what happens with Xiaoyou (Shancai's BFF), but she's a strong-willed girl and doesn't give up so easily!

In all of this (drumroll please): Shancai and Daoming Si are finally a couple! And it lasts...3 episodes because Daoming Si's mother is against it and threats to make Shancai's friend's families lose their jobs or be transferred. Since Shancai's moral level is similar to Mother Teresa's, she breaks up with Daoming Si by alluding it's because of his mom, without getting into details...
To make it even more dramatic, she runs away to the fishing village where her parents moved for a bit and goes completely off the radar.

After a while, and thanks to Huaze Lei, Shancai goes back to Shanghai and everybody is telling her to get back together with Daoming Si since the mother went back to London but, guess what?!, now is Daoming Si who's offended, accusing her to care about everyone except him (and you can't deny it, Shancai!). He went back to behaving like a rascal and it takes him some time to quiet down his anger...
Still, they can't stay separated for too long and ON EPISODE 34 finally, Shancai confesses her love for Daoming Si.

But since we still have 15 episodes to go, of course, other problems arise and this time is Daoming Si is forced to leave...for London, nevertheless!
Now that Shancai had magically realized how strong her feelings are, she follows him but gets rejected as soon as she arrived in the British capital...
It all ends with them spending one last romantic day in London and then BAM! kidnapped (and not even for the first time..).
Thankfully, this kidnap was part of a more or less debatable plan devised by Si's friends and they all go back to Shanghai...but they haven't even been there for 5 minutes when Daoming Si gets stabbed by a former employee of Daoming Group and gets operated right away, successfully.

After that experience, Daoming Si proposes to Shancai to marry him, but Daoming Si's mom still hasn't given up on her mission against Shancai...

My Opinion👍👎

I loved this series!

It is so overboard with everything: the characters are silly, annoying, hilarious, cheeky, cute and everything in between. By now, I felt like I could wander around Shanghai without getting lost (which would be a miracle for me!) and I learned how to say 'sorry' and 'how do you feel/how are you?" in Chinese. Ah, and to rely on the next life for everything!

To recap really quickly: Daoming Si has been hospitalized twice, his mom tried to bribe and then threaten Shancai. Shancai's family, on the other hand, had to move twice because of money issues while her friend Xiaoyou (rejected by Ximen multiple times) visited every single skyscraper in town to help him resolve some past love issues. The only time when Huaze Lei gets really excited is when they plan to go to the hot springs and poor Meizuo has to share Caina's attention with a man who's double his age.
Ah...and in between all of this, they all graduate with top marks from University.
Easy!

Being serious for one moment, I liked the Meizuo-Caina relationship's story because it wasn't that obvious...it makes you change your mind about the outcome every episode because of something he or Ye Ming Chuan say or do for her.
Regarding Ximen's story and development, I'm happy because it's a happy ending but, to be completely
honest, I kind of hoped it didn't, to show that not always love conquers it all.

Seriously, this second part was a lot more complicated compared to the first one,
but much funnier and enjoyable.
The soundtrack is great throughout the entire series but I can't say the same for the acting, which
goes from being extremely good to 'not-that-much' from one episode to the one after, but it's bearable!
I enjoyed it very much and I have the feeling I'm going to miss all the characters!

Do I suggest the view? Absolutely!

Are there some episodes that are obviously fill-in(s)? Yes, and they are made of long silent moments, complete with a sad song and scraps of old episodes made in the form of memories.
