A boy met a girl. One of them ends up falling for the other, but the time is not right.
Eventually, they met several times throughout their lives until they get together.
Then PLOT TWIST and, for some universal conspiracy, they fell out of love or feel like something isn’t right anymore and they break up.
Years pass and the two meet once more just to remember the good ol' times and then leave on separate paths. The end.
Now, why production houses keep on financing movies like these? I mean, seriously, they’re so depressing they left like a rock on my chest for days after watching them.
Why am I making a post about such a topic if I don’t even like it?
TO WARN YOU ALL! LOL
As much as I don’t like this type of ‘romance’ movies, they show the other side of relationships, and probably that’s why I’m so ‘against’ them…because they portray a plausible and sad reality.
Anyway, enough with me blabbing, let’s get back to business.
Prime
This 2005 comedy with the brilliant Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep is about Rafi, a newly divorced woman who falls in love with a much younger man, David...who happens to be the son of her analyst.
Their age gap, however, will be an obstacle as Rafi wants a baby while David is still a bit immature.
This has to be the least 'tragic' between the movies listed here because it's immediately clear that the couple will fall apart, even if I actually cheered for their happy ending since I'm a hard-core optimistic.
One Day
Emma and Dexter spent their graduation night together (without having sex), but when the next day starts, they go different ways.
Growing up, they'll eventually stumble into each other, developing a singular love relationship, which will lead to a happy ending...together! Yes, they even get married to each other.
The end here has a nostalgic vibe and it's a bit sad, but not as much as the movies listed above!
In Tune For Love
This movie is going to air in Korean cinemas later this month, but its trailer was enough for me to understand how nerve breaking and melancholic this movie will be.
But I really like both actress Kim Go-Eun and actor Jung Hae-In, so I might give this movie a chance...on a sunny day.
After winning the lottery.

(500) Days of Summer
This 2009 movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel follows the romance between romantic architect wannabe Tom and his co-worker Summer.
It may look like the average romantic story...and it is, only until Summer ditches Tom and when the two meet again the circumstances have changed.

Tom is an idealist (love-wise) while Summer doesn't believe in it and that's why the two were destined only to a brief encounter.
Anyway, the movie ends positively for both of them, but damn! it's so depressing at some points.
On Your Wedding Day
Speaking of 'bad timing' here...I watched this movie at the end of a bad day and the start of what turned up a bad night, so maybe that's why I'm so sensitive about this one.
Basically, it's a Korean remake of 500 Days of Summer (but the protagonists know each other from high school), if possible, it's even heavier and upsetting compared to the American version.

This is it, now you have a compilation of movies that will depress you from the beginning...JK, but seriously, this kind of movie has to be watched when you are in the best place possible (both mentally and physically), so summertime should do, since it's usually a happy season.
You've been warned enough, now tell me if you already watched any of these and what are your thoughts about them!
