📺 Korean Tv Series Review: Dr. Romantic (낭만닥터 김사부)

Yoon Seo-Jung is a competent ER doctor, loved and respected by her co-workers, but just can't seem to get along with the new intern Kang Dong-Joo, who's also brilliant but extremely straightforward and presumptuous. He also doesn't make it a secret that he likes Seo-Jung.

Just when things were about to get better between the two of them, Seo-Jung is involved in a car accident and shortly after recovering from an operation, she just flees her hospital room and disappears.

Five years later, Kang Dong-Joo is a promising general surgeon, still very ambitious and full of himself. He's given a VIP patient and when he dies during the surgery, Dong-Joo is blamed as the sole responsible and is sent to the hospital's countryside branch.
There, he'll get to meet Seo-Jung again and meet the mysterious, yet incredible Doctor Kim.

The two doctors will constantly argue and get on each others' nerves but they'll also develop a deep respect for each other...eventually.
Plus, the hospital's structure may look unstable and in need of reparations, but the people working in it don't only know what they're doing, but they're damn good in their jobs.
Romantic Doctor Kim 2

My Opinion👍👎
This 2016 k-drama was a fun watch, especially because of the dynamics taking place inside Doldam Hospital, which are so various, going from the most tragicomic cases to the more serious ones, provoking thoughts in the viewer as I personally found myself asking what would have I done if in their shoes...

The supporting cast is just amazing, from the nurses to the management teams they make the patients their top priority, which is something the doctors in the main hospital replaced with popularity and fame.
I also adored the craziness that happens every single Friday and how resilient (or just used to it) Doldam's staff is when that day comes.

If you like medical dramas with some witty and humourous characters, Dr. Romantic should be on your 'to-watch' list!
