📺 Korean Tv Series Review: White Christmas (화이트 크리스마스)

Spoiler alert for this 2011 k-drama: the only 'Christmassy' thing it's the title!
Susin High School is a prestigious school only top students can attend, but they refer to it as "Prison High" since it pretty much looks like a real prison and it's run like one. The only time of the year where they can go back home is during the Christmas holidays, but 8 students remain along with the P.E. teacher.

All these students received a letter that accuses them of being the reason for another student's death the previous year and what was initially seen as a sick prank quickly becomes a survival quest as the victim of a car accident they've rescued outside the school reveals to be a serial killer.

This murderer is a psychologist and challenges the group of students to find the sender of those letters, revealing all the skeletons and dark secrets they've been trying to hide for all their lives...

My Opinion👍👎
I was shocked by how BAD was this series, honestly!
All the new k-dramas aired between September and November weren't that much appealing to me so I browsed through old ones and found this one...it was actually promising since I knew almost half of the actors in the cast...Plus it was only 8 episodes, so it would have been easy to finish in a weekend.

Unfortunately, White Christmas is a miss: I didn't get the feeling that the students have never really been in life danger and the murder/doctor plays a twisted sociological experiment with them with the purpose of answering to the everlasting question: evil people are born or become that way?
After a few episodes, another character enters the scene but it would have been better if it didn't: completely useless and, I fear, it was just to add one more female in the equation.

The acting is passable at best, the supposed 'pathos' moments are more soporific than frightening and that's so incredible given the fact that all these actors have been in successful series afterward!
The fault lies also in the script as well, which begins with a good idea but has absurd dialogues, incoherent and pointless.

I usually like psychological thrillers, human nature is full of shades and setting it in a school with a snow blizzard outside to make it darker was a good call...sadly, it was the only one followed by a series of bad decisions.
