It was and still is recognized as the most iconic symbol of the post-WWII era known as 'Cold War' with the USA and former URSS keeping the entire world on the edge of a potential third global war, this time with the threat of nuclear weapons.
The Fall of the Berlin has decreed the end of the 'iron fist', freed a country and made it possible for family members and friends to reunite.
If you'd like to know more about that period, here's a list of books and movies with who you can celebrate this event!
BOOKS
I've read Edge of Eternity (click the cover for my review) and found it brilliant!! The other books are suggestions from friends, family, and Goodreads.com and I'm pretty curious about Roads to Berlin.
MOVIES
If you haven't already, watch Good Bye Lenin! and The Lives of Others. The first is about a son who makes his mother, who recently woke up from a coma, that they still live in Soviet Germany, while reality is the Wall has fallen and the country has been unified.
The Lives of Others won the 2006 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and it couldn't have gone any other way because everything about this movie is marvelous!
Stasi Captain Gerd Wiesler is assigned to the surveillance of allegedly West-friendly playwright Georg Dreyman and somehow starts to have mixed feelings about his job and the entire East/West Germany situation.

I'll be watching Wings of Desire today: it has been on my 'to watch' list for too long and the story of angels comforting the people on the streets of Berlin is fascinating!
How about you,
which movie have you already watched and which one are you curious about?
