🎬 Movie Review: Little Italy

Little Italy Movie Poster
Nikki has left Toronto's Little Italy 5 years ago, due to his father's feud with his former business partern and best friend, and attends now a culinary school in London. She's very talented but, in order to get promoted and starting working in a top restaurant, she has to go back home and have her VISA changed...which is everything except an exciting perspective.

Going back means she'll eventually end up meeting her chilhood friend Leo...who is, needless to say, her childhood crush and it's not helping the fact that he has grown even more handsome and secure of himself, but he's also her father's ex-partner' son...and it's Romeo and Juliet all over again! (minus the death part, don't get allarmed!)
If possible, their family's feud has worsened and before she knows it, Nikki will find herself competing for the title of best pizza at a local contest...

My Opinion👍👎
I was very curious about this movie, but unfortunately it didn't match up with my expectations: it's full of clichè about Canadian-Italians and italian culture in general (beside the food, we do really cherish it!), the script looks rushed and needs a serious round of proof-reading, especially for the italian words; I get it, they're Canada born Italians, but still...
However, not everything is to be redone: nonna Franca and nonno Carlo's characters are hilarious and have that tipical wisdom and love for grandchildres only grandparents have, the setting and scenographies are nice and I'm always down when it come to watch Hayden Christensen for one and half hour.

This is the typical movie to watch when you're up for something light, that doesn't require full attention but it's most likely to make you laugh...I did!
