Celebrating Ferragosto @ Garda Lake (Italy)

On August 15th here in Italy we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary (Mother of God)....The spiritual part of this "holiday" got a bit lost during the years, but not the mood of celebrating it. Everywhere in my country, families and friends have their own parties on the seaside, in mountains or simply in their houses!

This year, I decided to spend it with my longtime best friend Sofia and her younger sister,Alice, on Garda Lake, the biggest lake in Italy. We went to Torri del Benaco, a small and picturesque town near the lake. There are some beaches were you can stay to relax, sunbathing, eating and (if you're brave enough) swim in the lake...we passed on this activity, the water was sooo cold! We had lunch on the beach, it was a sunny day and I had a good time....Just what I needed, because my summer holidays are on their way to end...Next week I'll start to study for my University exams in September... -.-' Sooo NOT happy!
