📺 Korean Tv Series Review: Train (트레인)

Seo Do Won is a diligent and fierce detective, focused on bringing justice to crime victims and, while
Prosecutor Han Seo Kyung is as passionate as him in her work, she also believes that truth will win by following protocols. The two of them are linked by a common past, which is still hunting them both: Do Won is dealing with it by avoiding Seo Kyung as much as possible while she'd like to find a solution to their issue.
While working together to track down a serial murderer, Do Won finds that at an abandoned train station, on rainy nights a train passes. He takes that train and gets transported to a parallel world, similar but not identical to his.

While in this parallel world, Do Won discovers that there are the same people from his own world, but their lives took different paths and made them completely different compared to the ones he knows. There's also a woman resembling Han Seo Kyung but she's extremely hostile and resentful towards him.
Do Won will find out that the murder cases he was working on back in his world have some ties in the parallel one as well...
My Opinion👍👎
Likewise other dramas like 'The King: Eternal Monarch', if you got caught in the parallel world/doppelganger spiral you simply cannot miss 'Train'.
I'm always fascinated by how actors and actresses are able to portray the same person but with two completely different characters and background...plus, actor Yoon Si-Yoon must love having two scripts to memorize since he acted in double roles before (I'm talking about Your Honor).

Being a 12 episodes drama, the plot and narration pace is quite fast and the events reach the climax way before then I've expected them to, but that doesn't mean there won't be one or two plot twists that will make you say "WHAT THE HELL!?"

As expected from an OCN's drama, 'Train' has some frightening and brilliantly portrayed villains and the difference between world A and B are immediately recognizable so the viewer doesn't get confused about which world is which.

I've been watching a lot of comedy-dramas ever since the start of this year, so it was a nice change to watch a thriller/fantasy series.

Rating: 4/5
