These sanctioned the end of World War II in the Pacific area when it already ended in Europe with the German surrender in May 1945.
We're today able to know and understand the atrocious aftermath of the nuclear bomb thanks to the survivors' testimonies since nothing (or barely nothing) was left once the bombs exploded.
I had the chance to visit Hiroshima and was dismay by how the saw of the A-bomb Dome left me. I highly recommend the visit whenever we'll be able to travel safely but, in the meantime, if you want to learn more about the topic, aside from the documentaries, here's a list of books and movies from both the American and Japanese perspectives.
