2019 Academy Awards: My Winners

On January 22nd, the 91st edition of the Oscar's Nominees and Nominations have been announced!
It has been confirmed that this year's ceremony won't have a host! Actor Kevin Hart was supposed to do it, but decided to give it up after a series of anti-LGBTQ tweets from years ago resurfaced.
He apologized for it and decided not to host and the Academy haven't replaced him...
Beside knowing who won, to me one of the best feature of the ceremony is the opening monologue, so I'm really curious about how that is going to be dealt.

As always, I'll try to give my personal opinion on who I think might win...I've never scored more that 3 out of 8, but it's fun and with these years movies and nominees it's going to be even more interesting to guess who will bring Oscar home.
But I'll try it anyway!

I'm a huge fan of Viggo Mortensen and I'm still shocked and extremly disappointed he didn't get recognized his acting in Captain Fantastic, but I also have to be realistic and high chances are that Rami Malek is going to win for his work as Freddy Mercury in "Bohemian Rhapsody"...how come when actors and actresses portray high profile British personalities the are nominated and most often win at the Oscars?
Movies such as Green Book, BlacKkKlansman and If Beale Street Could Talk underline an evergreen, itchy topic for the US...racism. Whether it's done with humour or dramatically, they highlight unfairnesses but also hope for a more equal future.

As for the ladies, I really REALLY hope for Glenn Close to win, she's nothing but magnificent in "The Wife" and this is her 7th nomination, 4th as Leading Actress. And I'm also curious about "The Favourite"...haven't seen the movie, but Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz are two outstanding actresses, I wonder if we might have a surprise on that category.

So yes, this 2019 Academy Awards are going to be different under some circumstances and I can't wait to see the dresses on the red carpet!!
I'm curious....who are your winners?
