🎬 Movie Review: After The Rain (恋は雨上がりのように)

Valentine's Day is gone for this year as well, but that doesn't mean we have to give up on some sweet, very Japanese 'romance'...

Tachibana Akira was a talented high school tracks runner before an injury forced her to stop...Now she fills up her time by working part-time in a diner, where she starts to grow feelings for the 45 years old, divorced manager, Kondo Masami.

Tachibana has a very distant and strong introvert personality, so when she eventually confesses, it sounds a bit weird...But the manager is a kind-hearted person and he's actually more embarrassed
than Akira to know what she really thinks of him.
But he's a practical person and knows Tachibana can achieve great things, so instead of indulging in her love he helps and encourages her to go back training.

My Opinion👍👎
Compared to another movie with the same 'teenage girls loves an adult man' topic (My Teacher), 'After the Rain' has a more sensitive and naive approach...meaning that Kondo is more than conscious about the age gap, but as he cares dearly about Tachibana, he wants her to fully enjoy her teenage years and not to give up on her true passion.

The pace of this movie is a bit slow, to make the viewer elaborate every scene, but there's also space for plenty of funny and humorous ones, so I would suggest the view to those who enjoy happy endings even if (SPOILER!!) the protagonists don't end up together.
