Merry Christmas everyone!!
It's finally D-Day and I hope you're spending it with your families, friends, loved ones,
or whoever you wanted to spend it with!
Please stay safe and have a wonderful day!
❝People need Christmas.
It reminds them how good they can be.❞
Teddy and Kate Pierce are a normal siblings duo: he's the rebellious and annoyed teenager while she is still a bit naive and wants to make Christmas as special and family-centered as their late father use to do.
When their mother gets a call for an extra shift at the hospital, she begs Teddy and Kate to stay home and not to cause trouble. They then decide to stay up all night, trying to catch Santa Claus on-camera...which they eventually do, but then Kate decides she also wants to get into the sleight...
When Santa Claus gets startled by the young and unexpected intruders he loses control of the sleight and of they end up in Chigaco with a broken sleight, no presents, and runaway reindeers.
Thankfully Santa is very up-to-date with technology and put a GPS in the gifts bag so they join forces and begin their search.
My Opinion👍👎
I really liked Kurt Russell's Santa because he's kind and caring but also practical and humoristic...This Santa may leave presents and riding a reindeer sleigh but he takes his job seriously. Christmas is a day where we all forget about our problems and focus on what's good and positive in our lives and if people start to forget about it...well, there's a funny scene at Chicago police station that explains exactly what would happen in that case.
The Pierce siblings are a nice young pair, but they're torn between how this day used to be when their dad was with them and how to carry it on without him.
Teddy is especially angry and frustrated, he doesn't believe in Santa anymore and all he wants is to be left alone.
Her sister Kate might look like she is a bit annoying with all her 'childish' proposal but, in the end, it's her who saved her brother, Santa, and, ultimately, Christmas.
Besides the fun story and laughter filled dialogues, what I felt about this movie is basically what Christmas is all about: faith, being there for the ones we loved and how are a bit lost, and the overall sense of joy you feel when behaving at your best.
I really liked this movie and I think it'll go straight on my list of movies to rewatch during Christmas every year.
And, while it's time to unwrap the presents,
it's a wrap for this year's Christmas Edition!
I really hope you've enjoyed it, I most certainly got the chance to read and watch some beautiful Christmas set stories and even if I didn't post as much as I wanted, I'm still happy with the results.
Again, Merry Christmas!
It DOES pass the Bechdel-Wallace test
1. There must be at least two women (and the names must be known) ✔
2. The women have to talk to each other ✔
3. The topic of conversation can be about anything except men ✔
