Jesper is a spoiled young man, fooling around the Royal Postal Academy, totally disinterested in getting into the family's business. When the director of the Academy (a.k.a Jesper's father) summons him, Jesper isn't worried at all, but he should have been: in order to teach him a lesson, Jesper's father sends him to open a post office on the remote island of Smmerensburg.
Jesper has one year to collect six thousand letters and if he fails he'll be disinherited.
Being the cocky young lad he is, Jesper has no idea what he's going to step into! Smmerensburg is inhabited by two clans, the Krums and the Ellingboes, who have been rivals forever and the entire village spends its time fighting and devilish teasing the respective rivals.
Jesper is ready to quit as soon as he understands what's going on but the remain ounce of pride left in him makes him try his best...too bad that the people of Smmerensburg don't really need a postman.
Months pass by and Jesper is as desperate as ever but he soon discovers he missed a house, at the far edge of the island.
Driven by who knows what kind of hope, Jesper arrives and finds out a house full of toys, but gets scared and runs away from the enormous lumberjack that lives there.
That same night Klaus, the lumberjack, drags Jesper to deliver a small toy to a boy after he saw a sad drawing the kid made.
As the kid talked to his friends, soon almost all the children go to Jesper with letters for Klaus, hoping to get a new toy as well. Jesper then realizes that could be his chance to achieve the 6 thousand letters milestone so he and Klaus embark on this (hilarious) journey together to deliver toys to kids.

don't even bother reading this review, just go and watch it!
Similar to Christmas Story by Marko Leino, this movie retraces the beginning of Saint Nikolas' legend: where, why, and how all those toys are made, why he wears read and has reindeers towing the sled, and so on.
Jesper is such a funny character, he doesn't even have a clue how much he managed to change an entire village, spreading something different from hate and everlasting grudges.
Klaus may have the looks of a grumpy bear while he's such a selfless and good-hearted character, one can't help but love him instantly.
The story is simple yet filled with important lessons about making the most out of every situation, always strive to be better people, to look beyond prejudices and old and useless way of thinking and behaving just because 'it has always been like this'.
Jesper's drastic growth set an example of everything being possible when one's willing to work and put effort into their goals.
I felt so happy after watching this movie, I think it's perfect for the upcoming winter nights or weekend afternoons, it will definitely lift your spirits up, believe me!
