🎄 Movie Review [Christmas Edition]: Let It Snow

It's Christmas Eve everywhere in the world as well as in Laurel, Illinois.
BFFs Addie and Dorrie are talking about random things like Christmas gifts and Dorrie's love interest when some ugly truth Dorrie says about Addie's way of dealing with her boyfriend make them fight and, eventually, go separate ways: Dorrie has her work at Waffle Town while Addie is anxious to understand why her boyfriend is ignoring her texts.

While train journey back home, Julie meets raising pop singer Stuart Bale. Even if he initially is a bit cocky, Stuart will follow Julie off the train and they'll end up sharing waffles and their personal struggles at Laurel's local diner, Waffle Town.
Childhood friends Tobin and Angie have great plans for the day as Angie was invited to a party held by college students. Tobin has a crush on Angie for a long time so he's super worried that the guy who invited Angie, JP, might win her over. His attempts to look more mature and college-like will have hilarious and sometimes hurtful results...
My Opinion👍👎
Likewise 'Happiest Season', I couldn't really feel the Christmas spirit in 'Let It Snow' either: to be completely honest, we know it's Christmas Eve because the narrator voiceover tells us at the start and end of the movie.

The story is enjoyable and even if some situations can be pushed to much on the comedy/absurd side, it still allows you to set your problems aside for 1 hour and a half to laugh and think along with all the protagonists.

I adored Joan Cusack's supporting role as the 'town's fool' who tries her best to help youngsters look at their problems from a different and reasonable perspective. She's just the best!

Among all the stories, I liked Julie's the most because it was more 'future' orientated in confront to the other stories, but that doesn't mean other topics were less important or worth portraying as there are tons of good lessons and inspiring behavior shown, I'm 100% sure you all will end up with a big smile on your face!

It DOES pass the Bechdel-Wallace test
1. There must be at least two women (and the names must be known) ✔
2. The women have to talk to each other
3. The topic of conversation can be about anything except men

Christmas Rating: 2/5
Overall Rating: 3/5
